Leadership values are important. But what do you do if there is nobody around who shares your perspective when you need help?

We all need a little help sometimes don't we? Someone to turn to who gets us and our struggles. Someone who is guaranteed to have our backs and our best interests at heart.
But how accessible are those people? Our friends and family have jobs and commitments. Big name people might not have time for us. And we might not have the confidence to approach a manager or a mentor.
Don't worry. Here's something you can do to solve that problem for a lifetime.
Step 1: In a moment I want you to look away from the screen. Maybe to close your eyes. But, before you do, take a moment to feel how you are feeling. What's going on for you at the moment?
Take a little time with that.
Step 2: Now I want you to close your eyes and think. Who have you known in your life (alive or dead) who would have supported you through your current situation?
There might be several people. Don't force it, just feel it. Who would know exactly what to say or do for you right now?
Take your time with that too.
...
Have you done that? Good. Now you are ready for the final part.
Step 3: In your mind's eye, look again at those people who came to your mind and realise that these people are your personal Board of Advisors.
Whatever energy or feeling it was that they created in you is available to you now. They put it there with love, and it is available to you always.
Just close your eyes and feel it.
They might not be here in person, but they are always here in spirit. Once you realise that, you will never face any challenge alone, because you have the best experts in the world behind you.
You've got the ones who believed in you the most. 🙏
